Course Description
This 3-day course offers an in-depth introduction to long range shooting and the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship. Learn to set up and manipulate your rifle and scope, calculate for bullet drop, make adjustments and establish data to hit targets from 200 – 700 yards.
Whether you are a beginner or experienced with a rifle, this course provides comprehensive knowledge and training that will help you master your technique and skill for long range shooting.
Instruction includes:
Day 1: Training Focus
– Rifle, scope and supporting equipment familiarization
– Fundamentals of rifle marksmanship
– Zeroing your rifle and marksmanship skills (100 – 200 yards)
– Introduction to observation, camouflage and concealment
Day 2: Training Focus
– Shooting, making adjustments & establishing data (200 – 500 yards)
– Estimating and adjusting for target distance and wind
– Terrain use, camouflage/concealment and observation
Day 3: Training Focus
– Shooting, making adjustments & establishing data (200 – 700 yards)
– Spotting/calling shots and making adjustments
– Range Estimation & Unknown Distance Shoot
– Fun Steel Shoot and Final Training Exercise
Gear:
A detailed gear list will be provided once you complete registration. However, all you really need to participate is a rifle and scope/optic that will allow you to shoot from 200 – 500 yards. Common types such as, AR style platforms and bolt guns in 223/5.56, 308, 6.5 Creedmoor, 300 Win Mag are all acceptable. You will also need 75-100 rounds of ammunition per day. Loaner gear and rental guns are available. Informational resources to help you prepare for the course will be sent prior to attending. A student guide will be provided at the course.
Note: We have several rifles with scope/optics mounted for rent. Let us know if you need to rent one.
